Commune with Nature
Port Arthur is surrounded by some of the best wildlife management areas in Texas. You'll spot mink, armadillo, coyotes, bobcats and even the occasional brown bear. Both freshwater and saltwater fish along with diverse waterfowl can be found in the area. Hawksbill, Loggerhead and Ridley Sea Turtles, and plenty of alligators live in the swamps as well. In fact, the bayous and swamps here contain some of the densest populations of American alligators in Texas. Make time to visit J.D.
